Austria: Salzburg & Innsbruck

1st picture: Salzburg    2nd picture: Innsbruck Hiking

We couldn’t decide on one picture for Austria so we picked two of our many favorites. With the Alps as a background, every picture looks amazing. First we visited Salzburg and stayed in a great bed and breakfast just outside of town. We had to take a train one stop and then climb up a very steep hill for about five minutes and we were there. It was worth every step because of the view from our balcony. The first day we walked all around Salzburg and enjoyed the old town and small streets. The next day was reserved for hiking and hiking we did. We started around 9:45 and eight hours later we finally were making our way back up to our B & B.

After our crazy day of never ending walking, we took the whole next day off in Innsbruck. We even stayed in the hotel for dinner. It was a great decision because the following day we took on another mountain or two and needed our legs. Unfortunately, we ran out of time and had to take the final tram up to the very top. The mountain we were on was the same one used for the Olympics in ’64 and ’76 and we got to see the ski-jump, downhill ski slope and the luge course.
