Thanks to a night train from Zurich to Rome that included a long night of incredibly loud snoring from our Italian lady roommate, we had a full day to explore this eloquent historical city. Our first stop was the Colliseum where we saw the stage of animal and gladiator fights from so long ago. Russel Crowe would have been proud. Learning about trap doors for animals and different scenery such as palm trees, the Romans really enjoyed setting the scene for a good fight (or mass murders!!).
Off to Firenze (Florence)…
