Sorrento, Italy (Amalfi Coast)

It is now Day 15 of our trip. We have spent 8 of those in Italy and the last 4 in Sorrento which is nestled on the cusp of the Amalfi Coast in the Southern portion of the country. We have been able to take in spectacular views of the sea, cliffs and man-made towns that somehow exist at inclines of what looks like almost 90 degrees.

We took a day trip to Capri, the island brought to the attention of civilization by Augustus (along with son Tiberius), a ruler of Rome, over 2000 years ago. We must have hiked 5 or 6 miles with at least 50% of it at a pretty steep incline but what we saw was worth every step.

It will be hard to leave our small Sorrento city. It has given us an opportunity to relax, finish a couple books and eat delicious fresh fish.

Off to Munich
